ODG Engineering Inc. Personnel Project Experience
Samuel Roberts Noble Utility Services Center Ardmore, Oklahoma
Design consisted of the central utility plant (CUP) and 1500-LF tunnel distribution system. CUP consisted of 7.0 MW natural gas and diesel power generators, 1,400-hp steam boilers, and 4,000 nominal ton chilled water system to support the campus buildings. HVAC systems serving the CUP included: water chilling units, boilers with pumped condensate systems, cooling towers, pumping systems (primary, secondary, and tertiary systems), piping systems, building management controls and ventilation. The utility tunnel extends throughout the campus for the distribution of steam and chilled water to tertiary pump rooms located at each of the supported buildings. The electrical distribution in the central plant includes a medium voltage primary selective system and 480 V draw out secondary selective system. The CUP includes capacity for fourteen megawatts of power generation. The electrical distribution to the campus buildings is through a medium voltage site loop system to outdoor switches and oil filled transformers and radial feeds to the each building. Medium voltage duct banks run parallel to the tunnel system for distribution to the campus buildings. Tunnel is also designed for pedestrian use.
MCI Telecommunications Richardson, Texas
Design consisted of the HVAC systems for the expansion of the facility. Facility includes 50,000 SF Telecom Switch Center, 25,000 SF Collocation/Internet Center, and 75,000 SF Administration Areas. HVAC systems were required to be N+1 which included glycol treated condenser water system, fluid coolers, distribution pumps, piping systems, over 1500 tons of down-flow computer room air conditioning units, and building management controls. The electrical distribution system includes a 2n design of electrical power system. Design included 8,000 amp main-tie-main switchboard, dual utility service feeds, dual power distribution systems, two 1250 kW Emergency Generators, four megawatt generators, and six parallel redundant 500 KVA UPS systems, and extension of the existing fire alarm system.
